For the 17th year, UBUS Communications Systems will present Awards to Independent Black Writers. The winning categories will include "The Carter G. Woodson Award" given to the person who in our estimation, did the most in 2008 to "re-educate" Black people.
For those who don't know who Dr. Carter G. Woodson is, you have probably heard of Black History Month (i am not trying to insult the intelligence of anyone, but many, mostly youth, don't know who he is).
The title of his book is "The Mis-Education of the Negro." Hence the award in his honor, given to the one who was successful in 're-educating' black people.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOME INPUT IN MAKING THE CHOICE FOR THIS AWARD. Please share your choice with in this forum.
Each week we'll put out a 'loose' survey to gather information about the other awards that will be given away at the 2008 Black Book Awards in Charlotte, North Carolina: You may share your choice here, but please send a copy to blackwriters@khabooks.com
